Early Childhood Education Gateways Credential Certificates

Level 2

This certificate is intended for students who are currently employed in the early childhood field as teacher assistants and wish to gain the Level 2 credential for the program's ExceleRate status.  If student is planning to transfer to a 4-year university, it is important to review the GATEWAYS CREDENTIAL LEVEL 3 CERTIFICATE to insure seamless transfer from Level 2 to Level 3 and/or meet with IVCC ECE Program Coordinator or IVCC Counselor.  ECE courses are sequenced (fall/spring) and students beginning in the spring semester may take longer for completion of certificate.

The transfer schools' general education requirements vary, and may affect a candidate's program enrollment or recognition as an Early Childhood Education major.  The passage of the TAP, ACT plus Writing, SAT, or other assessments is required for admission to most ECE majors.
